Just wanted to say I'm very happy playing with this very classy bunch of guys this year. So thank you for signing me Vikings. Great to feel at home again... I think with the level of training, talent and commitment on this team we will be a team to beat.

Wow excited to finally see some picks on this board besides mine. A couple of big games this weekend. Vikings in a battle vs Seymour but look for them to get their second win of the season and win a tight one over Seymour. Howe sound keeps rolling with a big win over LV. Guardians enjoy the bye week to rest up. Don't forget to turn back the clocks 1 hour on Saturday night.

Cheech, what is this word “training” you speak of? nice to hear you're happy, your new Manager is top notch. Although I do hope you’re around to support your old team this weekend... may need to pick your brother up off the field. Wow!!! completely new LV team with the return of Johnny, good to see him return after going home and throwing back a few yorkshire puddings Was that Nick reffing the Dallas/Caps match this week some terrible calls and bullshit cards given as well. Very disappointing to watch. ...any word on this Screaming Vikings team?? 8-0 really? Once again, some big matches this weekend.

Wow word on the street is Roma pulls out a 2-1 victory over Nordic. The team Nordic had out today is definitely a top notch squad. With the scored tied 1-1 Nordicc pulled out their top hairy defender which benefited the Romans as they were able to score the decider in a 2-1 victory. Also heard that Seymour lost as well as Howe sound. Lost today.
Guardians enjoyed the break.

I feel excited as I'm popping my cherry tonight First post wow
2 things
1. After many years of soccer I've honestly seen a lot of sh*t but never seen a guy kick another guy in the knee from behind with full force. Mis-timed tackles are one thing. Late tackles are one thing. Hard challenges are one thing. But to wind up and kick a guy in the knee from behind is unsportsmen like, dangerous and dispicable. Not since I was 9 years old playing for BBY heights (we ruled) did I see something like that; which by the way resulted in a bench clearing brawl by the parents that was so bad that they cancelled the whole tournament. If that was me on the receiving end of that kick I would have kicked right back and taken a broken nose and about 4 teeth with me. Unbelievable
2. Hats off to Nordic. Moved the ball well. Good control of he middle. Great skilled players. Hardest game we have had this year. Well done and keep it up. Solid
Roma #14

For once Conductor your intel is incorrect, Seymour & Vikings battled to a 2-2 tie which in my opinion is one of the toughest, most hard fought games I’ve ever played in this league. Danny has done a great job with this team and they have all their quality players back and firing. Anyone expecting anything less than a battle from Vikings based on previous results will be sorely mistaken. Would like to say congrats to my team for coming back twice and securing a well-earned point.
Although I have to say the sending off for Vikings was a turning point and a terrible miss-judgment by the referee, when a player receives a yellow then subs himself in order to calm down and keep his team with 11 men then gets a second yellow for walking off the field I think that's crazy. If anything he should be applauded for having the sense to know he needed a timeout. Refereeing isn't an easy job by any means but common sense should prevail... unfortunately not in this case.
Looks like Roma have taken a comfortable lead afoot of the table after shock results and a good win against Nordic. LV looked excellent, with the Silver Fox upfront and Johnny's return they will be a match for anyone.
Gona be a very interesting 2nd half of the season with plenty of upsets...

PT17 the screaming vikings are a millars league we played in a friendly. Without being too harsh to them, not anything for our league's teams to worry about in the cup
Offsideheys thanks, but not all down to me, im just lucky getting some new guys on board that can play and are commited. Just had to wait for some bedding in time so to speak.
I agree the game was awesome on sunday, was a great one to watch until the idiot with the cards ruined it! My player complained that someone was wearing a ring and would like it removed in case of injury. Was told "i dont care" then booked twice! At the end of the game one of my players comes off with a bloody hand due to said ring. Great performance by both teams.
Looking forward to going against lynn valley and jonny boy and his mullet!

Kicking a guy in the knee from behind is pretty dangerous and despicable... too bad the ref could only make the call from the "SMACK!!" sound it made and issue only a yellow... as this is clearly a straight red in any league in the world plus a gross misconduct which is most likely a 8 game suspension, if this was the case the whole league would benefit from having this piece of sh*t on the sidelines. Kudos to Nordics coach for taking him off the field for the rest of the game, he has clearly seen this sh*t too many times from him. I truly feel bad for this team... It must be tough to stand beside him and call him a teammate. This was a good battle on the field, with Roma's goalie stealing a W for their side, not to mention the highlight reel goal to put Roma ahead. Nordic was a ridiculous save away from taking the lead, I guess you have to be good to be lucky Nordic's new additions are pretty solid players and make a huge difference on the back line. LV Azteca with the massive upset??? what happened here? would love to hear it. this sunday @ 12:30... Heys Vs Fazio... can I order it on pay per view?

Am I really reading this correctly??
The player from HS that called the ref the C word and gave him two big middle fingers to his face only got 2 games for this behaviour?
... this can't be right.

I'm still in shock as to what the score was between LV and Howe Sound. HS allowing 5 goals in one game is unheard of. Was HS missing their starting goalie as well as their starting back line? Johnny does make a big difference to LV's line up but seriously 5-1 is not a score where you can say they got lucky to win vs HS. IMO the league is at it's strongest in terms of parity across the league, than it has been in at least 3-4 years. Nordic, is always a team that somehow finds a way to be at the top of the table and with their additions they might be even stronger now. Vikings have turned around their ship and have a quality team that can beat anyone in this league, I'm still surprised to see them sitting as low as they are in the standings. Seymour is also a team that has improved considerably over the last year and a half and they are making a claim to be in the top half of the standings. LV has hopefully picked up where they were two years ago as one of the strongest teams in the league. Guardians are also a lot stronger than they ever have been, even though the point total doesn't show. I'm looking forward to the second half of the season.Congrats to Earl who won last weeks NSCL sports action picks! My picks for this week are -LV and Vikings are both teams looking to move up, in a battle on the field I'm going against the grain and calling a tie here. -Howe Sound vs Guardians, I'm also going to go with a tie here. Big pay out on calling ties, if they happen!

Pics:
LV vs Vikings: I think Vikings are a team on a mission right now and with the power and pace of Steve upfront will take this game by the scruff of the neck, Johnny and Silver Fox are good players but i just can't see them being enough to beat a 100% Vikings... LV 2 vs Vikings 5
Howe Sound vs Guardians: Howe Sound will be out to avenge the shocking upset last week and will go into this game prepared, I think a narrow win over a much improved Guardians... Howe Sound 3 vs Guardians 1
As for Seymour vs Roma, i will follow the lead of the Conductor and not jinx my team with any predictions.
Good luck to all!!!

All right, after several weeks of analysis, not to mention evaluation, staff are now prepared to debut the inaugural comprehensive, and atypically cosmopolitan version of Sir M's Excellent Power Rankings 2014-2015. So here we go:
1. Poco Euro-Rite Castillians (VMSL). The reigning BC Champs are rounding into form after a disappointing showing in the Western Canadians. A former FVSL side that has carried on the FVSL tradition of having a long team name. Currently third place in VMSL Premier. 2. Portuguese Club of Vancouver M A (VMSL). Another team with a long name, but that is because they are from Portugal. A recent 2-0 hiccup drops them from #1 in the rankings. Currently topping the VMSL Premier table. 3. Delta United (FVSL). A refreshingly short name for this side which tops the FVSL table. A tough opponent for anyone. 4. North Delta SC Rangers (FVSL). The Provincial Cup runners up are one point adrift of arch rival Delta United, albeit with one in hand. But enough about their storied self stimulation practices. 5. Romanian FC M (VMSL). This upstart side are scoring goals and currently find themselves in second spot in VMSL Premier. Not a particularly attractive side, unless one is into nose hair. 6. West Van FC M (VMSL). An inconsistent side thus far this year, this team is still looking for its first trophy since the 2011 Western Canadians. A recent home loss drops them. Currently fourth spot in VMSL Premier. 7. Columbus FC M A (VMSL). A team with a history of multiple Provincial championships, Columbus, despite their name, ironically, are not fond of travel. Coming off a hard fought draw with Westside on the weekend. Currently in fifth spot in VMSL Premier. 8. Westside FC M A (VMSL). Westside is as difficult a team when they are at home to play against as any. Possibly due to the fact that this West Side's home park is in the Downtown Eastside for some reason. Currently sixth in VMSL Premier. 9. Coastal FC Peace Arch (FVSL). Long name, great results. Currently in third spot in FVSL Premier. 10. SFC Temple United A (FVSL). Temple has some explosive players and are known for serving up some explosive fare at post-game festivities. Currently fourth spot in FVSL Premier. 11. Croatia SC M A (VMSL). The current defending VMSL Premier Champs are slowly coming out of a bit of a sophomore funk, having defeated West Van 2-1 on Sunday. Currently seventh spot in VMSL. 12. PMO Rangers FC (FVSL). Staff do not know much about this side but do note they are another team called Rangers, and that they have really nice uniforms. Currently fifth in FVSL Premier. 13. Roma (NSCL). While other teams from other leagues tend to like the multi word team titles, the North Shore teams like to keep things concise. Roma, known for developing several VMSL players, sit top of the table in the seven team NSCL and are thus far unbeaten. 14. Vancouver United Rangers (VMSL Div 1). Yet another Rangers team, this side is dominating VMSL Div 1 and are five points clear of the second place Flying Horses in VMSL Div 1, having defeated the second place side 3-0 on the weekend. 15. Surrey United (FVSL). This handsome side, one with a storied rankings history, are back in the top tier of FVSL Masters, a division they dominated in their glorious past. Currently in sixth spot. 16. Coastal FC Alumni (FVSL Div 1). Top of the table in FVSL Div 1, this is an aged yet wise, skilled and somewhat chubby side. 17. Howe Sound (NSCL). This is a big strong team with a penchant for tight short shorts. Currently second place in VMSL. 18. Nordic (VMSL). Tied on points with Howe Sound, this long time NSCL bridesmaid is currently third in the table. 19. Nextlevel Rapids (FVSL Div 1). Excellent name. Second place in FVSL Div.1. 20. Poco FC Dominion (FVSL). This is a side not called Rangers. Currently seventh in FVSL.
So there you have it. Good luck to all rankings eligible teams this week.
