The beauty of Cup play anything can happen!! As the NSCL top 2 teams from League failed to advance to the "A" cup. Great job on Vikings, as they were one of the hottest teams in the second half of the season and had to actually play all their games to get in to the "A" Cup. Don't get me wrong here as LV hopefully will represent our league well, but to qualify cause you win 2 games by forfeit is a joke. Not on LV as they just happen to be the team that benefited from this. If I'm HS or Nordic I would be choked as well. Granted Roma and HS still get to play but Nordic was also shafted in this debacle. Truthfully the only team deserving from the Millars League is the Wanderers to be playing for the "A" Cup. In my vent though I'm very happy that our league started this Cup out. As whenever you start something new, you always go through kinks and unknowns. Best of luck to Vikings and LV in the competition of who is the best master's team on the Shore between our two leagues.

what are the wanderers strengths. we need help from defeated nscl teams. how does LV shut these guys down. Speaking from Roma's loss, they were strong all around. There outside backs like to overlap quite a bit and get really involved in the play's build up. Their forwards are quick and their team likes to keep ball possession. The one things LV will need is definitely all there players out. The back line is pretty strong but they are slow, so if you have some speed up front this could cause them some problems, also try and get some shots off. Roma wasn't able to take that many shots. Another thing LV needs to hope is that Wanderers are missing some of their better players who hopefully are away for Spring Break with the kids. I'm not sure this will be the case but LV can at least hope for it. Maybe HS can give you guys some advice as well.

We had a draw against them and to be fair, we were lucky. They are strong all over the field and they like to keep the ball on the ground. They have 2 very good centre MIDs that like room on the ball so close them down quickly and try to stop them playing. We did that a lot and we managed to frustrate their number 10 to the point where he got sent off for 2 bad tackles. They are a very strong side though. Stronger than any team in our league.

Thanks for your suggestions, tip and tricks. I checked their team register and they've signed 34 players. we'll try and frustrate them. unfortunately our speedy forward Pablo is still MIA in the Uruguayan jungle. we'll try and wind up this browning fellow. Hopefully we can keep our own heads cool. looks like footy jamboree sunday. too bad Nordic isn't playing they have great bbqs

crossover cup action
Vikings 1 scuie 0
Azteca 0 wonderers 2
Azteca had some major personel problems. both goalies injured. sub in goalie played awesome. a good shot and a pk rebound were the only goals and about 10 great saves. a second yellow early in the second had lv down a player and a goal. a quitting forward had lv down to 9 men and 2 goals. then a game ending cracked rib had lv down to 8 tired players for 15 min. lv had their moments to equalize. we have the Vikings to look forward to in the nscl cup.

There you have it, exactly how Roger( President of Millars) wanted to see it. Two teams from the Millars League playing in the respective finals. Looking at the stats six teams from the NSCL would have finished in the top two, while Seymour would have came in third. I know if my aunt had balls she would be my uncle, but this is crazy. Truthfully the only team that should be and deserves to be playing in any of the two Cup finals is Wanderers from the Millars League. It is great to play other competition, but I feel like the Millars League, asides from Wanderers should be all done. Watch now I've jinxed myself and watch the Millars League win both Cups!

The winter season worked out well. id like to say both final games were close. HS almost scored in the last 5 min but it only rolled on the goal line not over it. Azteca managed to field 11 players on kick off. tough game for Azteca with no subs against Vikings who had 5 subs. it was 1-1 till the 80th min. by that time Vikings had two quick counters that left our defence in the dust , I mean puddle. it was raining hard. roma (who haven't missed a bbq all season) had lots of beers (and they're not sponsored by a brewery)and most of the silverware. so much hardware that modest frank didn't even see the writing on his golden boot trophy said 19 goals (plus however many in the cup final) this is probably a nscl record.
big thanks to the executives for setting up the challenge cup. these extra games rounded out our season. with only 7 teams our season was looking quite lame compared with the vmsl.
I hope there can be some ads posted to attract a few more teams for next year.
and there will be a good bc knockout game of roma (italy) against pcov (Portuguese) at confederation 1030 sunday. should be a great battle.
cheers
