I think 8 games is far too much - not that i think fighting is a good idea but 8 games? Good luck with the appeal
Great to see Nordic and LV getting stronger
Great to see Guardians get a great result - but honestly do we need a team like the thunder in the league

Roma 5 points clear of CV and 4 points clear of Nordic. HS drops points which is good for all other teams. Not sure what happened with the punch but yes 8 games is too much
Are we scheduling games for rememberance day - i hope so

I know there are some teams out there struggling for players. Another option to potentially try and get some players is from the Millars league. It's a North Shore based league and there are 4 Over 30's team and 5 Over 40 teams. These players would be and are eligible to play in our league as well as Miller's isn't a part of BC Soccer. Go to this website and check out the teams and possibly even call the managers to see if they may have some players interested. There league games are on Saturday and don't conflict with us. millarsleague.com At the end of the day I along with the 6 other managers who attended tonight's meeting want to see this league survive. That means some teams players and managers having to do some work to make contacts. Hopefully the Thunder and LV can get some more players out. I personally don't know much about Thunder but do feel for and respect the 6 or 7 guys on LV that continue to keep that team together. LV has the potential to be a competitive team they just need to get a few more bodies out so that they aren't showing up to the game with 7 or 8 players 5 minutes before kick off! Also my hats off to the Admin for calling a Managers meeting to keep all teams in the loop!

My picks for this week are
-LV continues the Thunder's streak of losing! Let's just hope the Thunder can field a team! - Seymour eeks a close victory out over the Guardians, who used up all their offence last week! ;D - Huge game between Nordic and CV. Nordic is up by 1 point but have played an extra game. CV definitely needs a result here to still stay in the hunt. Nordic is missing to many bodies this weekend to pull off a win here. I'm taking CV by a field goal.

What is up with Thunder? To be honest as happy as LV is for getting 10 goals and to be honest I'm not against it, Thunder needs to get their sh*t together. This is your responsibilty to try and get players to come out. Other wise the ones you already have signed are probably not going to come out. Who in their right mind wants to come out and take the beat downs when at our age their are other things people would choose to do( family, kids). I say this with no ill will but I look at a team like the Guardians who I have a tone of respect for. They have been around for awhile and for the most part taken their losses. To their credit they show up with a full team and usually at least 3 or 4 subs. I get it that not every team expects to win, but hell show some pride and make an honest effort. Nordic who I know has a shortage of players, plus some suspended players still made it close against CV only losing 2-1. I honestly thought that CV would hammer Nordic. As for Roma today we were fortunate that HS was missing their regular goalie. Good battle today for both teams and am super happy for the result as Roma only had 11 players until they got a sub 10 minutes into the second half. This could have worked in our favour as HS had at least 5 or 6 subs and probably thought that they would benefit from just plain outlasting in the game due to the fitness level and subs. Kudos to Guardians with a result today!

What the hell is going on with thunder?? come on guys is not time to give now...I'm hoping that for the second half of the season they get more bodies on the field. As for the game between LV AZTECA VS THUNDER it was the mexicans fron start to finish. My picks for next week:
Howe sound 10 v Thunder 0 (unless they get enough players out)
Nordic 1 V Roma 3 (Here the italians will continue their winning streak)
Seymour 0 V CV united 3 (the coveside, vikings combination will come up on top)
LV AZTECA 3 V Guardians 1 (the mexicans are the better team here they should be able to shut the door....CIERRA LA PUERTA HOMBRE!!!)
good luck to everybody!!

I'm still trying to figure out how Roma beat Howe Sound based on the Conductors post.
Hopefully Thunder will get things sorted out, there is still a lot of aoccer left to play.

with roma opening up a comfortable lead at #1 spot and beating what must believed to be the best team in Howe Sound with not even their best 11 i think its safe to say roma is the team to beat. Howe Sound / CV and hey maybe even Nordic will scrap it out for the final BC spot
My pics HS a whole bunch thunder 0 Roma 3 nordic 1 Seymour 1 CV 2 LV 2 Guardians

Roma vs HS was fairly even in the 1st half - HS with more possession than Roma but Roma were able to finish one of their chances. 1-0 Roma at the half. Some VERY poor defending by HS allowed Roma to score 2 quick ones at the beginning of the 2nd half and it was all over. Roma has a good squad and were able to hold off any advances by HS who became more frustrated as the game went on. HS got one back, hit the crossbar, and had one cleared off the line but Roma got the result.

spqr, it was your vote of confidence ;D Again, I still believe that Roma was fortunate on the day and HS was missing their #1 keeper which definitely would have made a difference. That being said, I'm not complaining with the result. What I would complain about is the Ref (Nick). He was already brought up at the Managers meeting, and safe to say this guy is incompetent!

Im still trying to figure out why the game was about 105 minutes long... and once again Roma was given a sh*t load of cards. That whistle never left his mouth... Yes, some were definitely fouls and some were really bad looking flops. Does this guy enjoy officiating??? never seen such an angry looking mug on a nice sunny sunday... clearly looking to give cards whenever he can and always in a foul mood.
Aren't the Italians known for flopping??
