Coveside put a beat down on Norvan as NV has nothing left to play for. There is always something to play for in my opinion. Coveside should be considered favored to win but I am sure they remember the earlier meeting this year and despite their taking the 3 points, it was not a cake walk. In this rebuilding year, Norvan has struggled for consistency especially in the beginning of the year, throwing away points, missing a bonafide keeper for key games, and most importantly, struggling to find the back of the net. In spite of this Norvan made it to the top pool. There will be no Provincial berth this year and the cup run will probably be short but there is always something to play for...for the competition, for the love of the game, for the taste of that first cold sip of post game suds.(Yup...Definitely that first cold sip fo'sho)

NSCL Administrator,
When will the schedule be updated. I think games are on next week and I'm sure players would like to know so they can schedule their Sunday.
Anything you have would help.
Thanks.

spqr,
Received the schedule from the league at 9:00am and you're posting at 10:00am to ask why it hasn't been posted yet? Are you f*&^* serious?
Give me strength!

My point wasn't that you missed it but rather that you expected the schedule to be posted within an hour of me receiving it from the league executive. I try to post stuff as quickly as I can but at least give me a chance!!
Your team manager was sent an email containing the schedule from the executive about 10:00am as well. Doesn't he inform his players when the games are?

the roller coaster of excitement is over. I took full advantage of our postponed games during the olympics but I wasn't aware the season was over. Sure 1 or 2 cup games or some qualifiers for BC's etc. but what about our season. This continual reduction of games per season is really starting to piss me off.
Some teams will not play this weekend and will be lucky to get another game this season. That's phaakdup. Do you feel you got your Dues worth. I want a credit put towards summer league.
Is there any teams out there that want to play the mighty wounded LV azteca's. maybe a grudge match. If your your seasons been limited due to snafu's or messed up pissed drunk executives who vote with their little dicks then step up. North shore, sat or sunday. lay down your teams gloves and we will get a field.
This just turned into another short-ass season.

Biggerballs, . Sure 1 or 2 cup games or some qualifiers for BC's etc. but what about our season. As I have only been in this league for two years, I'm not sure what you are complaining about??? We played the same amount of games as we did last year in terms of league games. The cup format and BC's is also the same as last year. The schedule is set out at the beginning of the year in terms of divisional games and playoffs. Yes this year had a layoff due to the Olympics but that doesn't stop your team from training or having exhibitions games, which isn't up to the league to schedule or provide. If you want more bang for your league fee's buck then either come in 3rd in div 1 or 1st in div 2 to get an extra playoff game for the BC's. Malones has done this 2 years in a row. On that note congrats to Malones on a hard fought game tonight. Halftime was scoreless with Roma getting 2 quick ones 5 minutes in to the second half. Roma added a third one and than Malones scored with about 8min to go. Malones is a team that I believe should be in Div 1, but probably doesn't have that same line up out to every game during the season! So this year the league reps for the BC's are Nordic, Coveside and Roma. Hopefully one of these teams or more can duplicate what Coveside did last year to make this league proud at the BC's!!! Good luck to everyone in the league cup!

Congrats to Roma for a good win last night. We battled them evenly but they had the better finishers on the night. Good luck to Roma, Coveside & Nordic in the B.C.'s. The best 3 teams from NSCL have qualified to move thru.

Things are slow on this board so I thought I would put something out there for debate. If I had to make power rankings based on the second half of the season for Div. 1 heading into Cup Play (standings aside), they would something like this. 1. Coveside - Best all around team 2. Roma - Very strong up the middle back to front 3. Vikings - Good ball possession team 4. Nordic - Good all around team 5. NAFC - If they had a bench they would be near the top 6. Norvan - Very hardworking team with a solid bench Thoughts anyone? Good luck to all this weekend.

SPQR, I like your last post but unfortunatley I have been held back from replying. Hopefully others will respond to it though. In terms of Cup Play today, there was a few upsets as Vikings took down NAFC in a shootout and Seymours took apart the Gaurdians 4-1. A very much improved year for the Gaurdians, over all they just didn't have the experience in the playoffs to get them a victory past the first round. As for Norvan and Roma another close fought game with Roma advancing in a close one 2-1. Norvan is a good team, if they can keep there players out that were at the game today they could compete for a top 4 finish next year!! Some good match ups coming up next week in the semi's for both Divisions!! Good luck to all those still alive in the cup!!!!

Spqr... I must agree with your predictions.
Something tells me the Vikings will knock off the overachieving Nordic boys this weekend... I think the horseshoe has finally fallen out of the arse of this football club.
Should be a great weekend!

Spqr... I must agree with your predictions. the overachieving Nordic boys this weekend... I think the horseshoe has finally fallen out of the arse of this football club. Should be a great weekend! I'm curious which part was the overachieving part? 6 goals against in 15 games... 44 goals for in 15 games... Undefeated over the entire season... +38 after 15 games... and Spqr... whats up with your rankings?? Let me get this right, after Nordic played a full season and lost to no one, you have decided that three teams that could not beat Nordic are in fact better. That makes a lot of sense. I assume you are either on one of those "better than Nordic teams" or you don't have a fcuking clue. Maybe Nordic should give up their spot in the BC's so that your pick can have a go. I bet there are a whole bunch of Americans telling themselves that team USA was the best team in the 2010 Olympics and team Canada was just lucky. Sounds like useless banter to me. Or even worse, you sound like a sore loser! Give credit where credit is due. LOL In case you didn't know, you have to be good to be lucky.
