The winter season is upon us and i for one am looking forward to it! Looking forward to playing against Roma and Thunder again, aswell as all the other teams. After the last few summers of invited teams dominating, it was great to see nscl do well this summer and cause a few upsets! The new cup with millers league teams will be fun and interesting. 9 days to go, lets get the friendly banter going and make it another enjoyable season Best of luck to everyone! But hopefully more to the Vikings ?

Wow, what a great day for the season opener's. Congrats to Earl who won the first week in his picks. He was 2 for 3 so far as the Nordic game hasn't been posted yet. A big welcome to the North Shore Boys (NSB) who have taken over the Guardians. This team was one of the top teams in the Millars league and is looking to compete for a Provincial berth this year. Something that you can't achieve when playing in the Millars League. Roma's game vs Seymour ended up 3-3. Seymour has picked up some good players and has depth. They took the lead 1-0 only to give one up before the half. Second half Roma gets a quick one only to see Seymour respond right back. Roma goes up 3-2 then gets a PK. The keeper does the unorthodox and doesn't move only this worked as the shot went right up the middle for him to make the save. Instead of putting the final spike into Seymour Roma allows them back in it and Seymour took advantage to score late and tie it. Vikings vs LV was only exciting as LV had a 3-1 lead with approx 5 minutes left. Vikings scored 2 late goals and almost got the win but LV's goalie makes a huge breakaway save at the very end to preserve the tie in another 3-3 game. This year looks like it could be wide open in terms of who will compete for the top spots.

My picks for week 2
LV vs Seymour big game as both this teams go into week 2 undefeated after picking up some big points last week. If Seymour can shut down LV's Silver Fox ( hat trick last week) than I will go with Seymour on this one. - Howe Sound looks to add to their impressive start in Goals For last week, as they lay a smack down on Thunder this weekend HS will be first team to go into double digits for GF after only 2 weeks. -Game of the week is Nordic vs Vikings, Nordic gets an impressive win last weekend while Vikings gets a very impressive comeback tie last week. This game will definitely set the tone, although only the second week into the season, Vikings can't afford to lose this one. I'm going to call a tie.

As one of Nordics veterans I am stepping aside this year because of personal problems with management. Unfortunately after 10 years I was informed by a third party that I am not welcome back because of (SOMEONES PERSONAL PROBLEM WITH ME). Having said that I am looking to play on a top team this year if these issues can't be resolved. If anyone is looking for a body I may be available. I guess Teddy was right maybe it's a positive foot forward. No hard feelings I have too much class for that. Nordic won 2 to 1 great game nice to see two other veterans on Nordic score the goals. Great bunch of guys and if it doesn't work out I wish the team the best of luck this season. Cheers

Cheech sorry to hear about your problems with management at Nordic. Give yourself credit for being in the league 10 yrs. Nordic IMO is a team though that has been very resourceful over the last few years. Look at the result today knocking off the Vikings which is a top team in this league. HS keeps on rolling like they usually do,we'll Seymour gets a big 3 points to stay in the top Hal after 2 games.. looks like I won this week in the picks going 2/3 with a lot of tough competition.. Guardians are a team this year that could definitely be in the middle of the pack..

Heck writing on this message board brings back memories of that song Cher sang " All by Myself". As it seems like I'm the only one posting about their games. Anyways huge game this weekend, so here are my picks -Seymour vs Guardians should be a cracker, as I stated above Guardians do have a decent side although the score from the last couple of games don't reflect that. If Seymour come out thinking they have the 3 points before playing, they could be in for a shock. Mind you Seymour seem to be pretty focused this year on being a top half team, so I'm picking them to win this one. -LV vs Nordic, Nordic keeps on rolling -Game of the Week which is a very big one is Howe Sound vs Vikings. Vikings definitely aren't happy with their last two results and frankly I am also in shock with them only having 1 point after two games. Howe Sound is a very strong team which is proven by their great start but also all the goals they have scored after only two games. Look for the Vikings to turn this ship around and squeak out a very hard fought 3 points. BTW congrats to myself for winning the weekly picks from last weekend. Albeit I was the only contender in the running for it.

A quick shout out to our League Exec's for getting this new Cross Over Cup with the Millars going. I believe this Cup will generate some excitement to our League. Having seen the draw it looks like LV and Nordic came out with the softer schedule, while Roma and Vikings definitely are in a battle. Maybe after other people from our League see the schedule, it might generate some discussion on this message board.

Is Cheech formerly known as the Rastaman?... Also known as Regan? Please don’t tell me Nordic released that strong and solid defender that is impossible to go around, Can someone confirm?
Sorry to hear about Thunder folding, if this is true.
But then again, when you eff up peoples weekends by cancelling time and time again, they can beat it!
