Actually, I had my stopwatch running and the game was about 46:30 in the first half and about 45:30 in the second. Not sure why you guys thought it was longer.
I will agree that a lot of the ref's calls were dubious. Also, his view of a violent foul is a little skewed in my opinion.

bman,
You'd better talk to your team manager as you are not listed on any ref report as scoring any goals for your team this winter season. The golden boot is up to date according to all received game reports.

Let's be honest here the Thunder have a better goals against average when they default their games, after the past few games and spqr and bmans prediction why would they bother and show up. The Thunder must already know that HS will not be in a very good mood after giving up points last weekend. If Thunder show up HS will definitely double the score they put on Thunder from the first game. Anyways my picks for this weekend are -LV vs Guardians, this game will be a cultural battle and the Guardians are feeling good about themselves. Rightfully so for them as they have scored 15 goals the past two games. The goals will continue to roll for them as they take down the Aztecs. - CV continues to roll as they pick up another win and 3 points over Seymour. - Howe Sound vs Thunder and HS will get a victory but I'm going via the default way!!

Another sad day for the thunder. I predict that if they can field 11 warriors on thursdays makeup match against Seymour they'll ratchet up 3 points. One of their stars mentioned they'd signed 20 guys but a bunch were playing in the millars league as well. Unless they can sort Sundays out they may be regulated to summer league only.
Now that the monsoons have set in and the fields are saturated is their a chance to secure another turf field. We encounter this almost every year. Even if we had a turf field at a later time slot it still beats playing on rainy sleety thursday evenings.
It could be another washed up season of 14 games. Its not to late to react executive and secure some 4 pm sunday fields. As desirable as grass games are. cancelled games and holiday weekends produce a very short season year after year. And Gravel is just not an option for the weak and tidy.

That's a great idea re: fields, biggerballs, but it's simple - there are no other turf field spots available. The turf fields are completely booked.

I would like to thank the new management for updating this website after the games are played on Sunday.
It's so refreshing on to come to this website on Monday morning and having up to date information. In the past posters would have to ask four and five times for the goal scoring to be updated.
Keep up the good work!

Biggerballs, not sure if you ever check out the schedule asides from checking out LV Aztecs results on the discipline board The season as it stands now will end Jan 20 with 2 make up games on Jan 27. That means there will be lots of time to get are season in. Games are going to get cancelled due to weather no matter what league you play in! Heard the Millar's League had 80% of their games cancelled this past saturday. The executives have done a great job in the past year and a half of getting are league games in and adding another League Cup to play for ensuring that all teams get at least another 4 games in. As for yesterday's results glad to see the Thunder actually show up. Unfortunate of the score line but they only had 9 players. I think that the Thunder have a chance to turn things around, if they can use their contacts and connections to pick up some players from the Millars League. On the plus side the Thunder players were still smiling and laughing after the game. As for the Nordic / Roma game. Roma did well to finish their chances. Nordic probably carried the possession of play, especially in the 2nd half but Roma got one more with about 20 min to go in the game which sealed Nordic's fate. If Nordic can add a striker, this team could compete for a top 3 finish!!

i agree spqr the league has been doing a good job. hard to get turf time but has anyone asked in any of the West Van fields turf are free? The grass field closures have no consistency. one day they are open next day closed even though the fields look the same. honestly the parks board has no clue or reason for doing the things they do sometimes. if all the games at inter-river were cancelled because of 2 small puddles then the whole season should be cancelled because this is as good as its gonna get.
on another note whats going on for the playoffs? Are there 2 cups or playoffs? I really don't feel like ending the soccer season in February

Rastaman... ohhh Rastaman... Just when I thought you were playing it cool this year, I show up to watch you play... and what? You are sitting on the sidelines because of a Red Card... so why not yell at the Ref the whole game until he comes over and tosses you off the field, just beautiful!!! So what do you do? you climb the fence in your sweet gumboots and keep yelling from the stands... while the parents and daughters show up and get ready for their game... Stay Classy Rastaman!

i think the league is doing a good job as well. shame we can't seem to get the thunder up to par and at least 1 more team in the league. i will however say that the fines that are being handed out are excessive. 8 games in one season is like being suspended for half the year. this needs to be toned down a bit as its getting everyone upset. Roma looked thin but solid on the weekend. While Nordic held play and had good ball possession the same story played out Faz/ Z/ & Roma's other forward won the game. Great 2nd goal by Roma. Nordic was certainly missing a few players which would have helped. Thunder could use some players. why can't this team find 3-4 guys somewhere. surely someone wants to play soccer out there. and how long can they keep showing up and getting hammered 12-0

Earl,
I think the league is working on the reduction of VC Red cards.
In the past I believe the previous administration amped the VC to 8 games. It was done to try and settle down the on the field antics they were getting out of control by teams and to rightfully punish their acts.
With the Thunder, HS did the league no favors by putting up those numbers on them. I don't see a reason to keep the foot on the gas to improve your "goals for" or the "golden boot".

HS did play with 9 players in the second half. But I suppose you could argue that we should have done it sooner, perhaps after it was 4-0 or so.
I must give credit to Thunder - they had a good attitude about it all and kept trying. I believe Thunder are only 3 or 4 additional regular players away from being competitive, and I hope they are able to sort it out.
