Howe Sound 2 vs Roma 1, Howe Sound has had our # for the last year ina bit. They have improved over last year and IMO that is great for the league. As for todays game I personally thought a fair result would have been a tie, but as sports go sometimes hard work doesn't pay off. Don't get me wrong here HS came out ready to play and Roma was missing a few key players, I thought possession was %60 vs %40 in favor of Roma but HS used their height and physical ability to a tee. I was personally more upset with all the bitching on the field than I was in the performance of both teams. Don't get me wrong here as Roma weren't no Angels but guys please we are old and playing Masters,no one is pro or getting payed to play. Let's try to keep our mouths shut!! As for HS well done today and I heard that Norvan got lucky today against Nordic 1-0 as Nordic should have won this one by about 3 goals. F-150 Tim is a huge loss, not only to Nordic but to this league!

Norvan lucky to win and Nordic should have won by 3? Not sure who you talked to but you are getting the wrong information from this game bud.

Norvanman, in stead of disputing my comments, which I agree with you, as I heard from a third party! Do us a favour and give us a game report as you were at the game and I wasn't!!
BTW was the final score 1-0?? I am just wondering if the whole game report and score was a lie that was told to me?

Norvan 1 Nordic 0
Really sloppy game by both sides. Probably one of our worst games in awhile. Both teams had chances to pot a few more but the finishing was off. Probably a fitting result in my opinion.

CV united
28 signed 13 available for selection 2 early chances for Guardians 2 big stops by our hungover keeper Lucky not to be down 2 after ten minutes
Ritchie toe pokes one by their keeper after several strong saves Second half cue the Benny Hill music -tragic football just waiting for the brain fart on our Team that would result in a sitter for the Guardians
Almost came when one of our seven dwarfs decided he would try a square ball from one corner flag to the other corner flag through our own six yard box
Guardians unlucky to get points CV United lucky to remain unbeaten

Seymour 3 Azteca 2
Scrappy game. LV started with 9 men, and Seymour took advantage with a quick goal. They got reinforcements and not sure if they had 10 or 11 on the field when we struck again, up 2-0 after 15. They got one back about 35 minutes in- Basil with a stomp on the inside of our goalie's leg that will leave a mark for a couple of weeks for sure... dispossessed our keeper and hit it in, scrappy goal and it counted. Then one of our players got a straight red for a little tap on the back of Basil's feet a few minutes later- and I'm not 100% sure on the ruling, maybe someone can chime in if they know the rule book. Basically, our keeper had possession of the ball and was walking it out for a throw or a kick, when our defender committed the straight red offense in the box. Red card shown and then ref points to the spot and awards a PK. Is this the right call? Anyone know? Didn't matter, Ali with a monstrous save to keep us up 2-1, but tables are now turned and we're down to 10 men from the 40 minute mark. Second half we actually played some good possession ball and went up 3-1. They got one back on a looping cross that I'm sure the guy who hit it will tell you was a shot! I'd tell you the same if I got one like that. Final score 3-2, and our keeper made a huge save to salvage all 3 points in the dying seconds on a point blank blast from one of the futboleros. Fun to play, not so sure if it was fun to watch.

CV United 5 Roma 2 on Thursday night at Griffin
Roma scored on a perfectly taken free kick from 19 and a nice PK; both by their guy who can do that with a nifty left peg.
CV scored a whole bunch of different ways, early and often. Was 2-nil CV at the half and it went on from there.
Physical game. Both teams played hard. Cards aplenty, but some good ball too.

I will agree here, but personally believe that Roma got shafted from the ref tonight. Brutal 2 yellows for Andy on our team. If anything maybe he deserved at most 1 yellow card tonight. he gets his second yellow mere seconds after Frank is hauled down by 2 defenders in the box with no call, when you could hear the thump he took on his legs from 40 yards away. We got a charitable PK late in the game with score line out of reach. This ref was a complete joke and we will be sure to write a letter up on him. This is the same ref that has already received numerous complaints from both the VMSL and FVSL. At the end of the day we still lost and as I have said before CV United IMO should and probably will be the top team in this league. A few guys on this squad need to learn some class, especially when they got up by 3 with us playing short for 2/3 of the game. to be honest some of these players on CV United could learn from Rosie, as he is not only one of the best all around players, but shows extreme class! Again most of the guys were great, but I guess every team has to have a few clowns on it. As for the result on the day CV definitely were more deserving for the 3pts. I am just proud that Roma for the most part kept everything in check with the Donkey ref, as this could have easily been one of those games where we could have ended up with quite a few ejections. Would be interesting to see how CV would have reacted if the calls had gone the other way? Oh well hope everyone enjoys your Thanksgiving!

I agree with the Conductor on the PK non call but not much else. The game was back and forth for the first twenty minutes with each team feeling each other out. I think were up 2 when the non call happened. Tough call on the missed PK. As one of the defenders that Frenchie eluded I had a pretty good vantage point of the tackle. Unfortunately, the referee maybe didn't have such a great view- yes he was wacked but it also was very close to being a very well timed tackle- ball first. Either way it was harsh not to give the benefit of the doubt to the attacking player. As for the double yellow- same guy three or four in a row in short succession - you don't really give the ref much of an option. And your player knew it - as he pulled a veteran move by mingling with the crowd hoping the ref would pick out the "wrong guy". As for Class - Thought both clubs reflected what was presented to them by their opponent. Both teams were guilty of moments of "Taking the piss" and hopefully we all recognize that that is all that it is -piss taking. I mean I would need hours of Dr. Phi if I took everything to heart that is said about my girth, size, and stamina- and that is only from wife during my monthly conjugal. I mean who could blame her when this is her usual view of the event. So could you imagine what mess I would be if I cared at all about slags on the pitch. By the way I do thank you for not teabagging me on the last slide tackle of the game!

just to clarify- it was actually a second yellow not a straight red... I was on the sidelines- in my usual spot...
