were just looking to compete and play not dominate...that would be you guys .
As Bushi has stated, we were fortunate today. Like Bushi stated Warriors short manned and with out their goalie today. I also commented on how lucky Roma was to get the result. On to next week against the Vikings who are one of the league stenghts!!! Like I said in my first post NAFC the team to beat this year. They came out with a W against the leagues best team Coveside!

Spoke with a couple of NAFC players and they are very happy with the way they played and feel confident with the team they have. Much respect to all the teams but especially NAFC.

Bushi you are correct.
Just to clarify my view of things I will offer how some oldtimers at Coveside see the world - the same ones who used to get thrashed at the hands of the Rangers and Seymour not to long ago.
Now that we are in the halcyon days of our youth and playing the game at a more cerebral level this is how our rose coloured glasses see the world:
Hold our own=
4 posts , crossbar ,sitter shot straight at the goalie ,2 just wide and a couple over with one cleared off the line vs one cleared off the line and one save .
Held on =
First kick of the game at kick off played back for a clean break away for the opposing team's striker with ensuing goal as our keeper is still pulling on his gloves (actually happened)
Having a completely free break away, in alone, tripping on the turf, and having the ball dribble into the keeper without a shot (actually happened)
Free kick is at the top of the 18, having you keeper call for no wall so he can see better, then watching the ball scream into the net right above our 5 foot Fort McMurray keeper (actually happened)
Sh_t the bed =
Means sh_tting the bed literally. Old Rusty had the misfortune of stepping onto the field at center back for kick off, falling over as the first kick of the game was a through ball, watching their striker calmly slot the ball in the back of the net, and then casually excusing himself because he sharted after a nasty night of curry (again actually happened) So yes Bushi we held our own

haha ok ok dirty you have to stop living in the past although had a laugh to with some of your stories from the past...after your repost that would almost seem like that game was a historical day for coveside as im pretty sure no one "sharted" themselves..played on grass so no turf to trip on...and saw your keeper ask for a wall only to see Cam almost get knocked out as the ball collided with his head....all in all you guys are a good group to play against with a sence of humour and good work ethic and generally good guys both on and off the field....and as from years past you win when you have to win and compete in every game...no question youll be in the top this year...

Well not that great of a week for myself in terms of picks as I only went 50%. I got Norvan and NAFC right. But the good news is I won the week as begi only got 25% right. Hopefully there will be some more competition this week!! ;D

Well onto week two. My picks for this week are
Nordic lays a smack down on the Road Warriors! Hopefully the Warriors show up to play this game or they could be in for a very long day. In the battles of the Latino's, I'll go with LV over the Guardians Howe Sound dumps Seymour MOTW is Coveside vs Norvan, Coveside will want to avenge last weeks loss. Only problem is Norvan are still on a high from winning the summer league. I'm picking this as upset of the week and Norvan gets a big win vs Coveside

azzuri's quote "Roma 5 Frybe 0 - Roma's new soldiers will be ready to go. Roma's keeper will be making sand castles in the box."Roma 1, Freybe (with an e) nil Hard fought match. azzuri.... Humility never hurt anyone. Consider it.

[Roma 1, Freybe (with an e) nil /tt]
Shafting is right with the score line. Roma was fortunate to scoe in the 80th min as the goalie gave up a juicey rebound for Roma's midfielder to run onto to pot into the empty net. Asides from that Vikings played well and on the day perhaps deserved a single point in a tie as they had chances too. Roma had a big bench and maybe they were over confident but at the end of the day they did get 3 points. Onto next week where rumour has it Roma is missing players against Nordic the team who went undefeated last year. Lot's of soccer to be played and NAFC is still the team to beat IMO. Although Norvan picked up a huge 3 points today over Coveside and could be a possible elite team. For the record LV smashed gaurdians 5 or 6-1. LV has picked up a few players and could be dangerous. Mind you Gaurdians looked like they should combine forces with the Warriors to have one decent team!!!!
