Remaining Bad Apples:
Cleef: Bad, very bad. Mean, very mean. Skilled, very...umm....
#4/Defender: Bad, very bad. However, easily impressed if you can converse with him in Spanish.

Nordic 3 Roma 1, hats off to Nordic as they played a disciplined(sp) game. To be honest there right back #15 who is well known in this league was probably the turning point for them. He is a well versed mouth piece and a chippy and dirty bastard but give him credit as there is no linesman in this league so he picks his spots undectectively. Today it worked out well as he gave a solid elbow shot to #17 front runner on Roma which caused the Roma player to run and do a grade 2 elementary school run and give him a push. Unfortunately this part was called by the ref, in my eyes this foul would consist of a one game suspension, possibly two max. The ref even pointed out that this player on Nordic definetinely had instincated it, but as the rules go a ref can only call what he sees, and he didn't see what had happened seconds earlier with the elbow to the face by #15 from Nordic. I have no complaints from the game as Roma played a man short for 70 minutes and had thier chances to score. Nordic played their game well even if it was to turn the game into a battle behind the scenes of the ref. Their was some cheap shots and fake whining but hey give them credit it worked. I must say that Nordic does have some classy guys on their team so in know way am I'm trying to disparge your whole team. In all fairness I don't believe Roma deserved to win, but at the same time I don't think Nordic will keep on winning if they have to resort to the tactics they used today. Hopefully Roma stays up in 1st division to get another crack against Nordic in the second round!!!!

I wish I was a gifted as Prof (Coveside) or Sir M when it comes to writing game report, they could really make this one entertaining.
Where do I start? What a "game"!
In a parallel universe, the game could have gone as follows: 10 mins in the game and Roma could have been up 3-0 as they hit the post/crossbar 3 times in the early minutes of the game. Nordic's players were nowhere to be seen. I think it took us 15-20 mins to actually cross the halfway line. And that would have been an easy win for Roma. But we do not live in a parallel universe and the gods of football (yes, it is called football everywhere in the world but here) decided otherwise. And I can't really blame them! The players' attitudes, yielling and screaming, cheap shots and elbows were of poor tastes, but you have to give credit to the ref for his horrible performance. And I know we can all have bad games from time to time, but at least we can be subbed.
So, after 5 mins or so, a PK is called against Nordic on an imaginary foul. Indeed, the player from Roma didn't even fall (and we all know how high the center of gravity of Italian players is). Roma stricker takes the shot and hits the crossbar, the ball coming back straight at him while Nordic's players were wondering how come such a great stricker (golden boot last season) could have missed. He ended up heading the ball over the crossbar. A couple of mins later, a missed kick from Tee headed straight to our penalty box, where our keeper safely picked up the ball. At everybody's surprise the ref decided that it was an intentional pass back - are you for f'ing real? I know Tee is one of the most skilled player in the league, but come on you call that a pass back? So anyways, indirect shot from the 6 yard box ended on the post. Another corssbar occured but I can't remember how. At this point, every single call was going for Roma, until...
the incident. Well, I didn't see much of it, definately not the "solid elbow shot" that has allegedly occured prior to the "grade 2 elementary school run and give him a push". The ref saw the "push" (it was a bit more than a push by the way) and gave a logic red card to the great stricker that went on a tirade that made me blush. With the words that you have used, you better go and confess my friend, cause you ain't going to heaven with this kind of language (I did learn new swear words though).
And then Nordic took control of the game. Cheap shots, whinning, screamin, elbowing and all occured on both sides (yes conductor, they did - you can look at your players as angels, but they are not, far from that - especially when there loosing). The ref was incapable of controlling the game with calls that were becoming more and more ridiculous by the minute.
0-0 at the half.
5 mins in the second and Pauly took a nice shot from 20 yards out and put the ball in net, followed soon after by a beauty goal from the left side, tight angle scored by Tee. At this point we slowed down significantly, allowing Roma to control the ball more and create a few more chances. An unfortunate bounce near our centerback cause a hand ball, logically leading to a PK for Roma (that was a good call ref - see, it's not personal, I just call it the way it is). Conductor (was that you) took his responsabilities and placed the ball nicely in the back on the net coming back to 2-1. Later in the game a 2MPH shot bounced off the Roma's goalie (who had a good game - and a few good saves) right in Ron's feet who sealed the deal 3-1 Nordic. Before the end of the game, a second yellow was awarded to one of Nordic's stricker and he was sent off.
I don't want to get into discussing the number of games the Roma's stricker should get, but based on Roma's story, it comes across as retatliation and we all know what that means. If you don't, ask Andy
All in all, I am happy to get the 3 points, but quite embarrassed by the cheap shots, elbows, screaming, yelling and whinning.
Malones next!

Nordic/Roam....Sounds like an interesting match. But what the hell is a stricker?

stricker for the esl Canto means striker for the pinz.
Coveside vs Lynn Valley - Hacks red cards and language issues Nordic vs Roma - Hacks red cards and language issues
Maybe a good time for all managers to talk with their teams to take a good look at themselves before blaming everyone else.
Canto: sounds as though you feel wronged by the ref but I'd be betting Conductor would say the same. Why would anyone in their right mind become a ref? No need to answer

As a non-biased viewer of the game I saw an equal amount of whining and complaining...especially Roma when the game was out of their hands. As Conductor said, there are a lot of classy players on both teams that dont get into the chatter, but from the sideline, it was not pretty seeing the same guys doing the same yapping. No need to mention names, but we all know who they are.
As for the game, Roma unlucky not to be up 2 or 3 in the first 10 minutes. Nordic hung around and started to play and it was actually an enjoyable game to watch. I thought Nordic was full value for the win aside from the first 10 minutes.

What happened in the Coveside game this weekend?
Week 3...Coveside v. Roma should be a good one. Vikings and Nordic should move to 3-0

Pacific2010, I'll stand by my post. Guardians needed a miracle and got one!! Our finishing was shite, our gift to them. Plus I wasn't in the lineup and I'm sure I would have made all the difference cause I'm such a big stud!! My 3rd place finishing for Norvan is looking a bit optimistic now. Just need to try and ensure we stay in the top half but unless our numbers and finishing improve, that could be a struggle. Maybe the bye week will do us some good....

Biggs, you are probably correct: "Conductor would say the same" The only difference is that he would be lying to himself and I am not

ok here's my non biased game report from the NAFC-Coveside game....another beautiful day up at the old NV dump..both teams rolled in and were both suprised at the guardians/NVan game...1-0 gaurdians with the possesion in favor of NVAN but no real chances..guardians missed a break away from 40 yards out nobody chasing him he could have stopped to make phone call to see what he should do but instead decided to shoot from 35 out and almost put it into the ravine..both NAFC/CS teams had the majority of their teams out (1-2 from both teams absent)..had heard that CS was gonna be a couple short from a fishing trip but both rolled in... Game started with NAFC having the best opportunities and most of the posession including a shank from about 6 yrds out from one of NAFCs croation contingent....KG came up with a great save on partial breakway..half ended 0-0 with CS lucky to not be down ....second half ..NAFC quick break out from own end into the corner, crossed and one timed with a rocket from RZ which i missed as nature had called.....15 min later great ball/run through, SM won the battle and toe poked another in 2-0 NAFC...now most teams would settle down..relax..protect the lead but nooo..another infamous KG rant and some of the guys were spending more time yappin and less time playin...coveside put a little more pressure in the later part of 2nd half but with nothing going through and Rosie nursing a red wine hangover and IMO a little off...had a couple shots sail high and wide with never really any concerns NAFC was solid at the back..had the better and finished their chances and won a well deserved game..fitness on both sides was evident at about the 70 min mark with our guys droppin like flies and subs with their boots off and hands in the cooler...stay tuned for another non biased report im sure form the CS view of things. LV next week...well see how many got carded this week?

What happened in the Coveside game this weekend?
We sucked and they didn't. It was one of those days where nothing went our way..credit to their squad. Actually, double credit due because it was aggresive but with fair tackles and minimal bittching either way. It's was painful watching their keeper put on his show though. They must have really wanted that win...their coach instructing his players to run to the corner flags to kill time..yikes!

at that point in the game there wasnt much running going on by either team..my instructions were.. with less than 2 min to play and us with yet another corner kick and in your end anyway for the past few min...was to stand on the ball..no reason for anyone to get injured when the game was inevitably out of reach...killing time? nah..but pretty hard for you guys to score with 100 yards between the ball and our net....i thought at that point you would have been glad to end it...either way we won....
